Fabriano is heralded as the cradle of paper-making. Let’s check out these five cool facts about them:
1. They started in 1264.
The Fabriano mill first started producing fine arts paper way back in the 12th century. In fact, their products were used and highly praised by Michelangelo himself!
2. They are committed to renewable energy.
Fabriano cares about the environment, and so they utilize self-generated hydroelectric power.
3. They have a diverse range of specialty paper products.
Whatever artwork you want to create, or medium you want to use, Fabriano probably has an ideal paper product for you!
Their Unica pad is made of 50% cotton fibers, making it ideal for most printmaking techniques using charcoal, pencil, and pastel. Meanwhile, their Black Black is characterized by a very deep black color. Flexible and resistant, it is ideal for pastel, color pencils, markers, and acrylics.
They also have a sketch pad, mixed media, bristol, and many others. Find all of their products in NBS today, or catch them in action at Words & Letters, a calligraphy and poetry reading event.
It’s taking place from January 27 to 28, 2018, at Shangri-La Plaza’s Grand Atrium. You can get more updates and learn more about it here.
