Binge Read: Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Readers of the world, unite! King’s Cage, the newest entry in Victoria Aveyard’s Red Queen series, is going to be launched on February 7, 2017. Before we immerse ourselves in the next entry, let’s refresh our memories by catching up on the Reds and Silvers with our Red Queen binge reading!

About Red Queen

Released in 2011, Red Queen is the first novel and series by Victoria Aveyard. In the book, ordinary people are known as Reds. They are ruled over by Silvers, elite who possess god-like powers.

Mare Barrow, the protagonist, is a seventeen-year-old Red girl who discovers that she too has powers. Realizing her very existence is a threat to the balance of power, the Silvers hide her in plain sight – as a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince.

Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime.

But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance – Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart.
