What makes Lang Leav special?
Aside from being a well-rounded artist, Lang Leav especially adores her novels with her own handcrafted drawings. She says the digital age has placed anything handcrafted to be extraordinary and truly special. So she delicately makes handcrafted illustrations for her novels. It’s the sensible progression from doing art, to literary. When her work, Charlie’s Widow was presented to the epic film director, Tim Burton of the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, he was “very impressed” to find out the book is genuinely-handcrafted. Awarded with The Qantas Spirit of Youth Award, Lang is also a recipient of the prestigious Churchill Fellowship.
Apart from writing and art, she introduced her fashion label “Akina”. Following her streak of success, Akina is carried by key boutiques around Australia and Harajuku, Japan. Truly she is not only an international bestselling author, but a multi-awarded one in various art disciplines.
