Archie Comics comes to life in Riverdale


Get ready to feel nostalgic with The CW’s new series based loosely on the classic Archie Comics, Riverdale! Brought together by Archie Comics’ chief creative officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and executive producer Greg Berlanti, the series premiered on January 26, 2017.

K.J. Apa takes the lead as Archibald “Archie” Andrews, a boyish yet conflicted high school sophomore who – despite the wishes of his father and his football coach – juggles the interest of several girls together with his passion for writing and performing music.

Disney heartthrob Cole Sprouse plays Jughead Jones, formerly Archie’s best friend and the narrator of the series. Meanwhile, Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes play Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge respectively.

The Archie comic book series started way back in 1941. After first appearing in a different comic, Archie soon skyrocketed to fame and starred in his own series which ran from 1942 all the way until 2015.
